John Travolta Biography

John Travolta was born February 18, 1954 to Salvatore and Helen Travolta. He was the youngest of six children (Ellen, Sam, Maggie, Annie, Joey, and John) born to the couple. They also have a half-sibling (Michael) from before their parents married.

During the latter half of the 1970s, John Travolta became one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. After a hit television show (Welcome Back Kotter) and a string of hits in films (Grease, Urban Cowboy, Saturday Night Fever he emerged as a true cultural icon. Thanks to his dazzling performances and polite goodness off screen, John Travolta influenced entire generations. He defined tastes in music and fashion and was the subject on non-stop gossip column rumors.
